A)         TSCA 2018 Elections – Board vetted six (6) candidates. Ballot will be emailed to all TSCA members with valid email addresses within days. See “Meet the Candidates” section below for background information.
 
B)         Texas State Championship – is less than 62 days away. $90,000+ in prizes . 80+ Random Draw Prizes for participants – See your emails, and Latest News on txclays.com. It’s thee ONE event every TSCA member must attend – 600 expected, don’t delay - Register NOW!
 
C)         Hall of Fame Banquet – register early for this Banquet as sell out is expected – do so on winscoreonline.com, Shoot registration form.

F)         Rumors – that colonoscopies will be added to NSCA membership benefits for those over 49yrs, 3 days, who have been members for 31.2 years and have a 95.7 or higher lifetime 12ga average are likely untrue.

H)         Meet the Candidates – many are known to you, more will be soon.
 
a.  Brad Alford, Fredericksburg – incumbent, recently retired, is a past member of the NSCA Advisory Board. Brad is a “numbers guy” having held executive corporate roles as Division head, CFO, CEO. He is serving and/or has served as an Independent Director for several public companies. He contributed to the recent, TSCA member approved, ByLaws update initiative. Brad is under Board consideration for TSCA Treasurer. 
 
b.  Tim Balaski, Missouri City – new applicant, has spent 38 years in the energy sector in various operational and leadership roles. Jim recently started a midstream company and built it into a public company – no easy accomplishment. Jim’s sporting clays experience extends well beyond Texas, but left him with an indelible truth – Texas is better. All family members hold NSCA membership cards.
 
c.  Charles Dodson, Dallas – new applicant, has been a life member of the NSCA since 2005. Charles has been a competitive shooter since 1985, first with USPSA, then Benchrest Rifles, and now, sporting clays. He earned Range Master status; and, has managed numerous competitive events / ranges. Professionally, Charles serves as an Associate VP with CallisonRTKL Architects in Dallas.
 
d.  Grady Gibbons, Orange – incumbent, recently joined the Board and has had an immediate impact assisting with the Large Club Support Program; and Chairs the TSCA Hall of Fame ZoliGun/Rio Ammo Fund Raiser (Raffle) program. Grady has a construction industry background, currently serving as Construction Director for one of the Gulf Coast’s largest specialty contractor/construction firms.
 
e.  Jim Schaefer, Allen – incumbent, currently oversees the 2018 Championship - Random Draw Gift GiveAway Program. Previously, Jim served as a TSCA Director, and as an Associate Director. He Chaired the Standards Committee, and its 18 month review, updating, and recertifying the TSCA ByLaws. Jim has extensive experience in healthcare, employee benefits and resource development. He is a NSCA Life Member, Veteran; an a clay shooting competitor since Middle School.
 
f.    Danny Vines, Lufkin – incumbent, has Chaired the Small Club Support Program for four years; he expanded the Program in 2018 to assist Large Clubs following Hurricane Harvey. Danny also Chairs the Club (Govt) Funding; and, the Standards Committees. Further, his contributions to TSCA activities are too numerous to mention. Danny has extensive experience with forestry management, related products, and renewable (bio mass based) energy. He is a long-time member, and prior President of the Pines Gun Club. Danny is under Board consideration for TSCA President.
